Yesterday I submitted an appeal form, and informed Google AdSense that I have no control over who clicks my ads and how many times someone clicks. I also enlightened them to the fact that ads are meant to be clicked. I also noted that SHiNTER.NET has a growing fanbase of users located in Gainesville, FL for multiple reasons, from the college football coverage to the recent coverage of Fay.
I’ve not done anything to warrant them getting anal with me, and at this point in time I really feel they’re just pissy because I was likely going to have an amount worthy of payment accumulated in such a short amount of time, and that they see more of the same in the future from SHiNTER.NET, and to save a few bucks, they’re withholding revenue generated by us and effectively stealing income from us.
I’ve already decided to chronicle the issues with Google AdSense in hopes of warning others who think they’re a worthwhile option for ads, and to inform them they’re likely going to get scammed into listing their ads, and then before payment they’ll suddenly come up with something that you’ve done wrong and take away your earnings. Bah, what a joke.

Since starting the site, I’ve wanted to flood it with all sorts of faces. It is a very old habit of mine, and I’ve pissed more than one person off because I tend to type a line and follow up quickly with the face. I’ve finally found a good emoticon pack to load on the site, and can now bug people with my faces and they’ll look good while I do so.
The icon set being used is a compressed version of 2s-space Emotions v2 by kirozeng. I really like the icon pack, and the big selling point of it is the cloud style, which makes it seem more newsy.
That, and the
emoticon was just awesome.

Google, in its infinite wisdom has decided that the site is a significant risk to their AdWords users, and have kicked me from the program. I’m sorry the sites popularity boomed, especially after it got dugg so much. Hell, I’m sorry it talks about one of the more popular subjects out there; College Football, and that the ads that mostly filled this site were related to such content. I actually clicked an ad because I wanted to go look at the stores selection on college football merchandise. Can’t help it, I’m a Buckeye fan.
The way I see it, I got shafted for being too damn popular, and Google didn’t like that. Didn’t like the fact that I managed to build the site around those ads to make the ads actually worthwhile to have for the people who visit it. Bloody ridiculous.
In other news for the site, I’ve removed the forum and the search. I never paid any attention to the forum, so it wasn’t worth keeping. As for the search, as it was built around a Google AdSense Search, and I got paid for it when people would use it, I’ve taken that down as well. No sense in still using a Google Search and not get anything out of it. Right? Right.

Today I officially launched the SHiNTER.NET | Community and the SHiNTER.NET | Search. Let me explain a little about both new features…
SHiNTER.NET | Community
The SHiNTER.NET Community is an all-topic message board. Like SHiNTER.NET itself, the Community is based on opinions of the news, subjects, etc. It isn’t 100% strictly news, and provides the members of the community a place to express themselves to others, and share their personal insight. It is more than another message board; it truly is Freedom on the Internet!
SHiNTER.NET | Search
The SHiNTER.NET Search is a customized search engine powered by Google. The difference between SHiNTER.NET Search and Google? The SHiNTER.NET Search has a matching color scheme to the site and community, as well as a nice home page to work from located here. I hope you choose to use the SHiNTER.NET Search feature as your new search engine of choice!
We’ve also been accepted into Google AdSense. I apologize for the advertisements, but if we get reasonable support, I don’t see why I can’t pull the ads in the future. Until then, I don’t think they’ll bother anyone. They’re not intrusive. Right? Right.
I look forward to welcoming you into the new community! See you there!
